“Britain would hand a posthumous victory to Adolf Hitler if Nazi war criminals allegedly living in this country were allowed to escape prosecution and punishment, Lord Jakobovits, the Chief Rabbi, told the Lords today.

The leader of Britain’s Jewish community made a passionate appeal to the Government to accept the recommendations of the War Crimes Inquiry and bring forward legislation to allow the prosecution of suspects.”
