Extended excerpt: [Hymn – Stanzas one & two]

“All things bright and beautiful,

All creatures great and small,

All things wise and wonderful,

The Lord God made them all.”

Each little flower that opens,

Each little bird that sings,

He made their glowing colours,

He made their tiny wings.” (p. 27)

Source note: Although Alexander’s hymn is now commonly known as “All things bright and beautiful,” it appears in book chapters arranged & named by the Christian Apostles’ Creed. The heading for the poem comes from the first line of the creed, “I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth.”
